What is a Pathologist?

A pathologist is a physician with a specialty training in tissue diagnosis and laboratory medicine. If you have tissues or fluids removed during a hospital visit, a pathologist will examine your specimen and provide a diagnosis to your physician. When you have blood drawn for laboratory work, a pathologist oversees the testing and is available for consultation if necessary. Pathologists assist your doctor in making a diagnosis about your health or any medical problems you have.

It is important to us to be part of the communities we serve; our pathologists live and work in Tulsa, Bartlesville, and Ponca City, Oklahoma as well as Pittsburg, Kansas.

Serving the community does not end with our work in the laboratory. Pathology Laboratory Associates actively supports community philanthropy through financial support and service such as our support of the Good Samaritan and the St John Foundation. Pathology Laboratory Associates has offices at Regional Medical Laboratory – Tulsa, Jane Phillips Hospital – Bartlesville, St. John Hospital, St. John Hospital Broken Arrow, St. John Hospital Owasso, Oklahoma Surgical Hospital, Tulsa Spine & Specialty Hospital, Hillcrest Hospital, Northeastern Health System – Tahlequah, ViaChristi – Pittsburg Kansas, and AllianceHealth – Ponca City
